Night shot
Again trying out night shot. I should use tripod stand and have to buy one first to suit dslr. Wanted to stay back in the library today, but it was freezing cold inside the library. I have to wear warm clothing, but as i went out for lunch, i the weather was not bad and took off my warm clothing. Somehow ridiculous.... its too cold inside building. Then, after lunch, on my way back to library, i passed by the bus stop and the campus bus to Kelvin grove was just arriving... got myself in the bus and on my way home....
On my defence, involuntary action guided by inner voice...'' go home... its a better place''...

The colors look great.
Using a tripod will significantly improve the shot because you can use a smaller aperture opening (larger f/ value) so that you get better depth of field i.e. the foreground & background will both be sharply in focus. As opposed to your shot where the water is in focus compared with the blurred buildings. For the time being, brace/place the camera on the railing or somewhere flat to minimize or eradicate the 'camera shake' even further.
One neat trick when taking nightshots is to use the timer function on your camera as opposed to using the shutter button directly. It helps to avoid the initial 'shake' due to the sensor capturing the moment when you depress the shutter. See if you have a remote in the options list for your 450D. That makes it even more convenient as you don't have to use the timer altogether. It made the difference on my olde D70.
Thanks. Tripod and remote control are on my list. Thats probably cost me under aud$400.00. here.I have a long list for my 40D.
